"Waiting on" Wednesday: The Scorpio Races

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Here is my pick of the week!

Title: The Scorpio Races
Author: Maggie Stiefvater
Release Date: 18 Oct. 2011
Publisher: Scholastic Press
Pages: 416

Summary taken from Maggie's website:
It happens at the start of every November: the Scorpio Races. Riders attempt to keep hold of their water horses long enough to make it to the finish line. Some riders live.Others die.
At age nineteen, Sean Kendrick is the returning champion. He is a young man of few words, and if he has any fears, he keeps them buried deep, where no one else can see them.
Puck Connolly is different. She never meant to ride in the Scorpio Races. But fate hasn’t given her much of a chance. So she enters the competition — the first girl ever to do so. She is in no way prepared for what is going to happen.

I love Maggie's books. All of them. After reading Lament I couldn't help but search for four leaf clovers. The Wolves of Mercy Falls are the prettiest books I own, and when I got Shiver I must have carried it around with me all week. Her writing is amazing and I am so excited for her new book! It sounds really unique and interesting and just as awesome as her others.
